Under the legal provisions imposed in France by the Labor Code (Article R.4451-1 and following) and the Decree of December 18, 2019, relating to the organization of Radiation Protection within your dental practice, we offer an annual Radiation Protection Advisor (formerly external PCR) service through a comprehensive solution for your establishment. This service covers all legal requirements and other obligations in this area (Labor Code, Public Health Code, Social Security Code).
~ For reference, according to the Social Security Code (Article R162-53):
Practitioners and facilities using devices and generators of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes are required to obtain a “declaration number” from the French Nuclear & Radiation Protection Safety Authority (ASNR).
This identification of installations is mandatory for the reimbursement of examinations or treatments provided to insured patients.
The request is made using the form entitled “Declaration of possession/use of electrical devices generating X-rays for medical, medico-legal, dental, or biomedical research purposes,” which must be designated by the Radiation Protection Advisor (Conseil en Radioprotection, CRP, ex- PCR externe) of the dental practice.
~ Role of the Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA, French CRP) within the dental practice:
In addition to assisting the practitioner in the process of obtaining the declaration number, the Labor Code precisely defines the role of the PCR with respect to the dentist: the PCR must support the head of the establishment in organizing Radiation Protection to prevent radiological risks for staff.
